Secondary Water Damage

6/2/2021 (Permalink)

Fan A warped ceiling fan from moisture from water damage.

Intense moisture when a hot water line burst caused this ceiling fan blade to warp. The steam accompanied by the increased moisture from water evaporation caused this damage to this home.

The secondary damage to a structure is what mitigation companies like SERVPRO of Carbondale/Clarks Summit/Old Forge looks to mitigate during water damage. Insurance companies refer us based on the repair instead of replace premise. When addressing secondary damage, speed is the key and that is one reason we are an emergency services company available 24/7 to meet any residential or commercial damage.

In this incident, SERVPRO was able to establish a balanced drying system by utilizing air movers and dehumidifiers to increase evaporation at the same rate of the moisture in air. While the fan was not able to be saved, the majority of the structure was able to be dried and saved thousands of dollars in damage.

SERVPRO of Carbondale/Clarks Summit/Old Forge is the Scranton area's premier smoke, fire and water restoration company. We service Lackawanna, Luzerne and Wyoming counties 24/7/365. Call (570) 235-1646 for assistance.
