Carpet Delamination

One of the first things SERVPRO of Carbondale/Clarks Summit/Old Forge will do as a restoration company when responding to a water damage is to get rid of as much water as possible as quickly as possible. Extraction is the first goal of the technician. Depending on the type of floor covering, we approach the job differently. If it is glued down carpet, we extract as much water as possible before setting equipment. If it is carpet with padding, we have to determine if the carpet is salvageable or not. When we remove the carpet from the tack strips and the backing of the carpet separates from the actual carpet fibers, then the carpet is considered delaminated. In that instance, we will remove both the carpet and the padding. If the carpet backing is still intact, then we will lift the carpet, remove only the wet padding and place air movers both above and below the carpet to dry it.
If you have experienced water intrusion and suspect there may be lingering moisture, call SERVPRO of Carbondale/Clarks Summit/Old Forge at (570) 235-1646 for 24/7 assistance and we will make it "Like it never even happened."
