Eliminating Odor Issues

Hydroxyl Generator uses ultra violent light to eliminate odors. It is completely safe and can be used in occupied structures.
SERVPRO of Carbondale/Clarks Summit/Old Forge is often called to tackle odor issues. We can clean and treat smoke odor from a fire, stale cigarette odors in a house or car, mold and mildew, pet odors, dead animal odors and lots of other smells.
Since there is no one "magic bullet" that will fix every odor problem, we have a variety of processes we can use including an ozone generator, a photocatalytic oxidizer (or Hydroxyl), wet fogging and thermal fogging. Thermal foggers vaporize solvent-based or petroleum-based deodorizers generating a "smoke" or fog consisting of very small particles. These particles are physically similar to the smoke produced in a fire, enabling the deodorizer to interact more effectively with odor-causing residue. Wet Fogging or ULV (Ultra Low Volume) fogging atomizes water-based liquid deodorizing agents producing a fine mist. The particles are small enough to penetrate most areas but not as small as the mist generated by a thermal fogger. Photocatalyic Oxidizers deodorize using an Ultraviolet bulb coated with titanium dioxide. The machine produces Hydroxyl Radicals and oxidizes like ozone, but the process is safer for occupied structures. Hydroxyls do not fill the room like ozone or fogging; deodorization takes place inside the machine. Ozone machines generate ozone, which is an unstable oxygen molecule containing three oxygen atoms. It chemically reacts with odor-causing molecules to oxidize residues and remove odors. Ozone is toxic to humans. People, pets, and live plants must be removed during the ozone process.
